Slain Navy SEAL Jon Tumilson’s dog “Hawkeye” lies next to his casket during funeral services in Rockford, Iowa. Tumilson was one of 30 American soldiers killed in Afghanistan on August 6 when their helicopter was shot down during a mission to help fellow troops who had come under fire.

I would like to wish all of my fellow EMT’s, Paramedics, Nurses and Physicians involved in Emergency Medical Services a happy, healthy and safe EMS Week 2012. It is not very often when EMT’s or Paramedics get recognized for the work we do out in the field. I would also like to thank all members of the EMS community for the work they do and I know that I wouldn’t be myself without being involved in EMS.
